Sophia Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what is allowed and not allowed when using Sophia's services (the "Services"), including our voice-led workflows and SMS-based conversations with Sophia.

By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to this AUP.

18+ only. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.

The Services are not intended for minors, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account or use the Services.

If we learn an account is associated with a minor, we will suspend or terminate the account and delete associated data as permitted by law.

This AUP applies to:

• Anything you submit to Sophia through the Services, including SMS messages, voice inputs, text entries, uploads (if any), and any other content you provide ("User Content").
• Your behavior while using the Services, including attempts to misuse, disrupt, or bypass safeguards.

Note: Sophia is designed for user-to-service interaction. We do not provide user-to-user messaging features within the Services.

You may not send, upload, request, or share content that is:

A) Sexual content, sexual services, or exploitation

• Pornographic or sexually explicit content (including explicit sexual acts).
• Content intended to sexualize or exploit anyone.
• Content that promotes, facilitates, or solicits sexual services, escorting, "sugar" arrangements, sex trafficking, or sexual exploitation.

B) Any content involving minors (zero tolerance)

• Any content that depicts, encourages, or attempts child sexual exploitation or abuse.
• Any sexual content involving minors.

We will take appropriate action, including reporting to law enforcement and other authorities where required or appropriate.

C) Harassment, hate, threats, or violence

• Harassment, bullying, intimidation, stalking, or threats.
• Hate speech or content promoting discrimination or violence based on protected characteristics (including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or similar).
• Content that encourages, glorifies, or incites violence.

D) Self-harm encouragement

Content that encourages self-harm or suicide.

E) Illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive activity

• Instructions or facilitation of illegal activity.
• Scams, fraud, impersonation, or deceptive schemes.
• Attempts to evade law enforcement, safety systems, or moderation.

F) Privacy violations and non-consensual content

• Sharing another person's personal information without consent (doxxing), including addresses, phone numbers, private communications, or financial details.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery (including "revenge porn") or any recording/sharing of someone in a private context without permission.

G) Malware or technical abuse

• Viruses, malware, spyware, phishing links, or other malicious code.
• Content intended to disrupt or compromise systems.

H) Intellectual property infringement

Content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

You may not:

• Misrepresent yourself, including your age, identity, or affiliation, or impersonate another person or organization.
• Harass or threaten Sophia staff, contractors, or any individual.
• Spam the Services (excessive, repetitive, or automated messages) or use bots to access or overload the Services.
• Attempt to bypass safeguards, access controls, rate limits, or security measures.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or harvest data from the Services except where permitted by law and our Terms.
• Use Sophia to solicit money, gifts, or financial assistance from others through deception or coercion.
• Use the Services primarily to facilitate or promote sexual services or other prohibited businesses.

Sophia is not a secure channel for highly sensitive personal data. Do not send:

• Government ID numbers (e.g., passport, driver's license, SSN),
• Full payment card details or bank account credentials,
• Passwords, authentication codes, or account recovery links.

If you use Sophia for recruiting or hiring workflows, you must:

• Comply with applicable employment, privacy, and anti-discrimination laws.
• Not use the Services to create or apply discriminatory screening criteria.
• Not request or process sensitive protected-class data unless lawful, necessary, and properly disclosed with consent.
• Use the Services only for legitimate recruiting operations and not for unlawful surveillance.

If you violate this AUP, we may:

• Remove or restrict content,
• Suspend or terminate your account,
• Restrict access to features,
• Report AUP-violating content and activity to law enforcement and other appropriate authorities where required or appropriate (including, for example, suspected CSAM or exploitation of minors, trafficking-related activity, credible threats of violence, or other suspected illegal activity).

We may enforce this AUP using a combination of automated and human review.

We may update this AUP from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest changes. Continued use of the Services after an update means you agree to the updated AUP.
